Yeah that fitness part sounds like a garden weed green salad with no dressing on it to go with your medium rare ribeye steak with french fries and beer! Just gets me all worked up.

Where's that gloried sandwich maker at when I need him?

Who cares what others think. You are probably having more fun than they are.

Realistically, now there is the best and most likely way to lose weight.

I fell better too. I am not on a diet but I cut out a lot of bad stuff and on the boat you move more than you do on the couch at home.
Go sailing, good for the head and body.
Be careful. At that loss rate you've only got 5 years more sailing in you.

Re: fat, out of shape sailors

I used to sit around dreaming of the cruising life.

Than I got a boat, and life is great.

In truth, I weighed in at 247 when I left to survey the boat. After 13 months, 8 spent aboard mine and another boat for which I crewed to Hawaii, I'm down to about 212. It's a different lifestyle. I debated between a bowflex machine and a boat. I think I made a good choice.

You made an excellent choice!

Boats cause better fitness than couch cruising. Better fitness causes better sailing. Sail more...

I prefer any shape, nice people to fit, unkind ones. Somehow.

Fit, nice are fine too ;-)
