Sisyphean. Wow! I needed to look that one up, and I’m a full-time writer for boating mags. It would be just as interesting as this Sisyphean thread, to learn how many readers also had to look it up… It is most appropriate to the post.
Also, has anyone ever actually been arrested or reprimanded for not flying the “correct” flag or flags? I never have in all my international travels, but then we used to fly the blue defaced ensign of the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club, which contains the Prince of Wales feathers, who was also the honorary commodore, (now King Charles), so I suspect most authorities thought we were somehow related and left us alone.
Once, an old fart in Gibraltar reckoned he had the authority to ask to see my warrant, which I showed him, along with a comment which cannot be printed here.
My experience in America is that nobody gives a hoot.
