(Or maybe it's "yard sizing", in which case it's only 48 foot on the diagonal. )
Even 48 feet on the fly is one helluva big flag - something like 20 feet on the hoist?

Our books have gotten 5 star reviews on Amazon. Several readers have written "I never thought I would go on a circumnavigation, but when I read these books, I was right there in the cockpit with Vinni and Carsten"

Re: Flags that last

I started racing on Lake Erie, Cleveland, Ohio. One of the boats flew a 50 foot long US monster flag on the way to the start line. It was truly majestic.

New flag. One side coated.

Re: Flags that last

We fly our Danish flag every day from sunup to sunset. We fly when on passage. Our cotton flags last about one year then they are threadbare.

When their life is over we give them to family and friends along with a description of where the flag flew off ou stern

Surprisingly they feel honored to receive one
