Contact Capt. Wayne Canning at 910-231-5874. He did my boat in July. Good luck

Don't get a local surveyor. Out of state or even country is best.

I got one lined up. I will say this. Its obvious of surveyors dont like to do sailboat PPIs at all.

I worked for a year in that area of Florida as a general marine mechanic. I saw a lot of surveys that were laughable. Just beware.

Yeah I called a bunch. Just talking to them on the phone made me uneasy. They all said they could do it. About half of them did a 180 and changed their mind after I told them it was a sailboat PPI. I guess they're looking for easy peezy center console insurance jobs. Some just flat out said "I dont do sailboats" and some gave excuses "I would love to, but I cant do a sailboat PPI cause I have arthritis".

Depending on how much money is involved it may be best to find the best surveyor, and then have the surveyor flown in. That was my experience, anyway…

I don't know if he will travel that far south, but Rick Shelley is the best in the business RD Shelley Marine Surveyor

He is fair and if something is 'iffy' he will call it out. Definitely not the guy you want for an insurance survey, but great if you are buying!
