Yes, and all over the NW & SW Carib...and most of coastal Gulf of Mexico, Lower Mississippi, Florida Keys, Bahamas, Jamaica...

Pretty sure there are some Gemini 105 owners on here who could chime in. Maybe some existing threads on the subject too.
Went for a sail on a G105 today (not sure if it was the M or MC version). Very light and variable winds in Golfo de Chiriqui (Pacific Coast of Panama).

Some Geminis Ive been aboard have seemed very lightly built, like cheap camper trailers that constantly shifted and squeeked under your feet, this G105 had a more solid feel to it and the rigging was beefier (dont know if its original or upgraded).

This one had a twin head sail rig consisting of a working jib on the inner stay and a genoa on the outter. Both on roller furlers. The genoa stay bottom end was rigged to a track that ran between the bows. This allowed the tack to be hauled up to windward when deep off the wind. This proved to be a very useful set up off the wind in light air.

Had a very good day of sailing, but not enough range of conditions to really evaluate the boat, but I can say for sure it is a very good light air boat! [emoji41]

Would I make this run (Rio to Panama) on a G105? Yeah, I would. But its not like the conditions on this run are normally particularly brutal...especially if you choose weather windows wisely.

Would my wife go with me...likely not...she has gotten pretty spoiled to the layout of the Wildcat which is more similar to a bigger cat layout and is galley up. The Gemini is more cramped below decks and galley down.

Re: Florida to Panama

The G 105 is a short boat and I think the guy was going all the way to SF too. I can picture a boat like that down in a big trough, it would almost disappear.
You can no doubt pick wx windows but he was thinking FL to SF in 3-4 months. It would be mucho fun on SF Bay
