Folding Propeller fitted to a Nauticat 33

Hello to all who read this thread.

Can someone explain the benefits of having a folding propeller fitted to a motor sailor - namely a Nauticat 33 as opposed to the factory standard propeller.

Regards,

Robert.

Gosh, 102 yachters viewed this and nor one reply. An I missing something here? I really don't know why a motor sailor like the Nauticat 33 and other motor sailor would need to have a folding propeller? Any reason for this?

Thank you.

Whoever fitted it probably wanted to get as much speed as he could out of these notorious bad sailing boats (I'll get flamed for that remark).

A folding prop typically will 1/2 to 1 knot to your sailing speed. I do not know how much it will add to a Nauticat 33.

Our books have gotten 5 star reviews on Amazon. Several readers have written "I never thought I would go on a circumnavigation, but when I read these books, I was right there in the cockpit with Vinni and Carsten"
