Re: FREE, or close to free!

Interesting, from the wording, it sounds like the poster may not be the owner. Wonder if there's a title involved? On the plus side, if those fuel cans are all full, that's probably worth the purchase price in itself!

Sounds like either the owner about to have it sized by the marina or the marina already owns it and they just want it gone.

if I was on east coast I would take it for 500 if I could clean it out before moving it out of the marina . They have a dumpster.

Re: FREE, or close to free!

That is actually one boat I'd consider for the project. From my experience with the 38 I think it could be worth a look. A guy in our harbor here has a nice one all tricked out for cruising and he's having fun with his. I wonder if the engine turns over?

Re: FREE, or close to free!

Not sure this is the right forum, but........

I'm offering a complete set of 'WoodenBoat' magazine from day one thru Sep 2016, plus.....
and there is more:
complete set of 'Professional Boatbuilder', day one thru current,
both for free.

But here's the catch: must pick-up in Elgin IL. I cannot ship. Sorry. But, glad to find a good home.

You will get better results if you place this ad in the classifieds section.

I agree. Pay attention to the "minimum" keyword. Rig, sails, and engine fix will be at least another 50K. New engine....

Ok I must say yes but I always figure costs from my point of view as a diesel mechanic and certified retired shipwright so I always forget to add in the labor costs.

Re: FREE, or close to free!

Boats like this pop up. A great little boat; can go to the islands and can go on a trailer.

Re: FREE, or close to free!

I've given up on trying to use FB Groups because my posts all end up in a "pending" void. So I came back to the gold standard for information, forums. I found this thread and would like to talk about my find in October. I got a Pearson 30 for $19.99 plus a $300 fee from a donor boat place. It floats, had a cradle and the place it's kept is pretty cheap for metro Detroit. I should say it's in the water and doing well. I definitely needs tidying up. I came here because after starting the engine, I found the seal weeping on water pump the Atomic 4. I'm going to post about that elsewhere. But for now, I thought I'd share my steal.
