Re: FREE, or close to free!

I THINK it is not a Seafarer 31 MK1 (Tripp design), I think he may have a Rhodes Chesapeake 32 that had a keel-mounted rudder removed and a spade rudder added, but it would be nice to have more shots of it.

The leading edge of the keel is more like S&S or Luders or Alberg though, less like Rhodes to my eye... need more info but look at the photo, that does not look like a Seafarer keel, skeg or no skeg.

Re: FREE, or close to free!

ok, hold on, maybe they mean this boat, with the rudder replaced with a spade:
TRIPP 30 (SEAFARER) sailboat specifications and details on sailboatdata.com

the long overhang on the stern looks right too.

that makes more sense and looks right except the house and interior layout are not the same.

Looks a lot like the Alberg 37 too though!

..... I wonder.... if this was a yawl that someone.. for some reason... turned into a sloop? And changed the keel..... maybe it was damaged and this was their way of making it whole again. Stranger things have happened.

Re: FREE, or close to free!

A few of those old boats came as either yawls or sloops. The Triton came as a yawl too and I see the Seafarer 30 did too.

Here is a shot of a Pearson Vanguard with a spade rudder added and keel-hung rudder removed. Sorry it's so small.
