It’s his boat he can do anything he wants to it. How do you know it is rotten, have you looked at it or had it surveyed ? It might be a sound boat.

What was the story with that Great Dane 28? I see one of his ads got flagged, but they are still up in other areas. So not free?

Re: FREE, or close to free!

Wow giving away a Bristol 27!

But the longer cockpit Weekender version, does that make it impractical for liveaboard?

Not any less capable of being upfitted for offshore?

Presumably lots more storage space?

I wouldn't consider it for living aboard or going offshore, but that big cockpit, with a big boom tent over it, great for gunkholing/coastal poking around, as long as there aren't too many bugs around.

Yes, but what can you do with just a hull??.......
The engine is dead because they have added an outboard, and the outboard is dead because it they say it needs a new lower gear case. The standing rigging has been moved from the normal inboard chain plates to some funky black painted chain plates on the outside of the hull, and that probably means the bulkheads that once supported the chain plates are rotted and can't support the load any more......
Scares me!

Re: FREE, or close to free!

Thanks for that, Doug!

I *totally* missed the moved chainplates. Sheesh. Hull is certainly NOT in good shape. Wonder if I could remove that post?

I don't want to steer any of my fellow cruisers towards a boat that, more properly, should probably be cut up.

: ( Sorry all,
LittleWing

We can remove it but I am not as convinced it is all bad. Sometimes folks move chainplates even if bulkheads are fine. I wouldn't rush to cut it up yet. There's a good pedigree there, I'd say it is worth a look.
