I agree on that! That boat on a trailer for that price looks very good to me too. That is a solid little boat, performs well for its vintage. That's the hull I sailed for 10 years. With the flush deck it will be on the wetter side but it is a sweet little boat. That boat also has the advantage of being able to put the outboard in the well in the lazarette and cut the notch in the transom to allow the engine to be tilted up. I hope it finds a really good home.
By the way, this model is named the Columbia Challenger.

I sailed an islander bahama 24 almost identical hull shape just 300 pounds more lead and it was actually a rather dry boat in Till the seas got well over 2 meters on a close haul. They are great little sailors . From living aboard for 3 years ( 1on the hook ) it is lacking in the headroom area. But lots of fun in a good breeze solid up to about 15 knots wind before I put in a reef

Yeah, I mainly posted it for others.

I've put too much into my good old boat to be starrting on another right at the moment even though that one was bigger and full keel as well.

And now I have AIS displayed on a monitor via Raspberry Pi computer off my SH GX2200 VHF using NMEA 183 thru an RS422/485 USB adapter.

It's basically a chart plotter with OpenCPN Charts and hockey puck GPS to show my boat's position.

I didn't think I needed all this electronics before and can still do without, but it sure is nice to have all the useful information it provides........which also includes tides and present currents

Re: FREE, or close to free!

Found of craigslist

1973 Santana 25' Sloop - $650 (Annapolis/Eastport)
Per Diem is a W.D. Schock Santana 25-1 built in 1973 and trucked here from California in the late 70's then left behind by a one-term US Congressman.
https://sailboatdata.com/sailboat/santana-25-1
Hull ID WDS000691173.

Includes several sails.
Also includes a very reliable 2011 TOHATSU MFS5BL 4-STROKE i.e. 2011 5HP long shaft (worth $700):

The foredeck and cockpit sole are soft and in need eventual recoring but she sails well despite that. The hull is very solid - in the 80's the boat industry began to find out how little fiberglass and resin they could get away with but earlier boats' hulls are all vastly overbuilt.
