Re: FREE, or close to free!

I just love it when the ad says the diesel runs good just needs a tuneup
Tuneup for an older diesel 1) change oil and filter. 2) change fuel filter and fill with atf . 3) change or clean . Air filter . Run engine ro blead the system and being up to operating temperature. And done.

Re: FREE, or close to free!

Overhaul I was wondering the same thing, maybe tune up means putting some block weld into the cracked head? Or maybe pouring penetrating fluid into the cylinders before using a large bar to turn the engine over? LOL
Cheers

Free operational boat (Aberdeen WA)

Be careful with this one. It just seems a little scammy to me. Maybe too much 'splaining. It might be real too and an awesome deal. Let us know how it went if you checked it out further.

Posting already deleted by author. Makes me wonder if someone else called them on the scam potential.

Either what you said, or that it might have been real and it's gone already. We'll never know.

Re: FREE, or close to free!

in his defense, the pic might not be of the boat in his yard... it was not his boat so he may have used something representative. I don't know, there was not a phone no.

Re: FREE, or close to free!

Boat in RI is a scam...
no boats that far away from the water marina at shown location..
What I did learn is that there is a new type scam on craigslist boats, where they offer to send more photos but then provide a link to the photos. the link downloads malware. so.. don't click on any suspicious links to get photos etc.

GOOD to know. Maybe this should be a thread item all by itself.
