Group MMSI numbers

I wonder if any of you has any experience you can share about using Group MMSI calling. Our sailing club is discussing their use during our summer cruises.

Group MMSIs are not centrally managed so once the prefix is allocated you can assign them as you wish.

My experience is people hardly understand how to make a DSC call , group calls will bewilder people unless you plan to setup DSC training for them.
