Re: Hard vs ablative.....

I'm going through the antifoul thing now, I'm down in Trinidad. I'm surprised at the difference in costs.

When I was in Asia most used Jotun, I used Jotun seaforce 90. I cant remember being dissatisfied with it.

I just looked at Seahawk 44 (which alot of people use down here) as well as International 66. Both these paints are comfortably double the price of the Jotun? Are they double as good?

A internet search of the seahawk shows quite a few complaints of it failing quickly ,just simply wearing off, and it also contains Tbt. The micron 66 seems to get only good reports BUT as mentioned is double the price of the Jotun which seems to have no bad press either.

The Trinidad hard antifoul is also double the price of the Jotun and theres seem to be mixed reviews.

As someone that is happy to dive on his hull regularly I'm leaning towards a hard paint but undecided yet as the Jotun much cheaper price makes choosing any of the others difficult.
