Re: Has anyone been following Greta and Boris Herrmmann?

So it sounds like some folks would rather that children just sit down and shut up. I recall what happened in the 60s when young people protested what their parents were doing and in the end we became them.

Re: Has anyone been following Greta and Boris Herrmmann?

A strike aims at achieving ones goals by hurting people : e.g. employers or third parties, right? Now I wonder what concept of “ school” somebody has that is calling for school strikes? “For whom” do those striking pupils go to school, whom is their strike going to hurt?

Yep, poor little beggars come out of school, can't add two and two and two together or string three words together to make a sentence but can anxiously sprout CC/AGW dogma until the cows come home.

I'd think a lot more of that teenager if she was well on her way to a chemistry doctorate and later helped developed a new battery with four times the energy density at a quarter the cost and half the weight of lithium, instead of encouraging kids to wag school and super glue themselves to the road way.

Greta, for one, seems quite capable of stringing more than a few words together, forming coherent sentences, elucidating comprehensible concepts.
I very much doubt that the admiration of obstructionist deniers is very high on her priority list.
I'd be even more impressed, if someone like you "developed a new battery with four times the energy density at a quarter the cost and half the weight of lithium".

After reading a couple of Greta's speeches which you cited a few pages back, I would most certainly agree. Indoctrination, however, is quite different from being taught the basics of writing & speech. The ultimate goal of a proper education is to provide the tools needed for children to develop an ability to think critically on their own, not just find eloquent ways to repeat whatever an adult's particular opinions or political philosophy happens to be.

Amazing misperception!
Strikes, protests, sit ins, all of these events happen because third parties, employers,GOVERNMENTS, don't listen or respond to questions, initiate policy that is counterproductive to health, safety, economic need, political climate, or inequality.
These actions are meant to bring all parties to the table to talk and have dialogue.
The only ones hurt here are those not willing to listen to those wishing to initiate more action, explanation, and dialogue, with those individuals.

It's HORSEHOCKEY that anyone speaking up for POSITIVE CHANGE for ALL
is Ridiculed for trying to affect change.
Better get used to it.
Climate Change will continue to disrupt our lives in ever increasing violent events.

And YOUR PROOF this may be indoctrination, and not her own choice.
As is the case here.
Really!

Children have far less "choice" when being indoctrinated. That's the point. And once adults, it's far more difficult to overcome.

If you think the worldwide social & economic disruption & hardship that will occur by reducing fossil fuel consumption in the amounts Greta & the IPCC proposes will be an unqualified "POSITIVE CHANGE for ALL," then you are probably indoctrinated as well.

I am aware of that. My father was there. He was also one of the first to be flying any kind of patrol craft off the US west coast on the week following December 7, 1941.

I appreciate his service, as I'm sure most of us do.

Well lets face it, all the current levels are doing is killing off many natural sites via mass tourism, not doing much for the Caribe truth be told apart from the few raking in the profits.

Why pick on Catholicism and Islam? You are English, aren't you ;-0)?

Greta's mob was christianized at swordpoint. As was mine. Sometimes that stuff doesn't take. Even after a thousand years :-)!
