Has anyone heard of Discount Marines in Poland?

A neighbor found these guys online offering some pretty good deals on inflatables. Achilles, Zodiak, AB...

As an example, he liked this one for various reasons and the price

https://www.discountmarines.com/prod...hb-270al-2019/

Shipping to the USA was $92.

Ok, is this old stock? Are they true dealers so warranty is valid? Are they a scam?

Anybody have any specific knowledge/experience?

Thanks

The link says it is 2019 stock, so old. Possibly a returned item? It also says free shipping on purchases over $50. At that rate, they might send it to you on its own bottom. Might take a long time.

Looks a little dodgy, they're giving addresses for both Poland and Indonesia.
Rukan Artha Gading Niaga Blok C-1 & C-2
Jl. Boulevard Artha Gading, Jakarta Utara 14240
Phone +62 81 29057 – 0685
61 is the ISD code for Indonesia.

Irrespective, what they're offering is a source of parallel exports, so no warrantee is likely to be valid outside Indonesia

The system based on major brands having different prices for geographical areas. Parallel exporting is very common in Indonesia.

Also there's nothing to clarify the currency, sure they're displaying dollar symbol, but whose dollars? I'd suggest send your money and live in much hope. Sometimes super cheap deals are fantastic and the goods actually turn up.

Re: Has anyone heard of Discount Marines in Poland?

I am a Polish/Canadian citizen, have a place in Gdynia, and my last visit there was in Feb 2021.

A couple of observations:

-the store location address is a beer shack next to a ferry terminal.
-Discount Marine has no Polish internet presence whatsoever, no local phone number, no Polish language website
- the owners' names are not Polish.
- Polish VAT rate is over 20%, and prices in Poland are always shown VAT inclusive.
In my experience, Polish prices for branded products are higher than in North America
- I shipped a bike to Poland three years ago. From Montreal to Gdynia for $380, using a shipping consolidator. FedEx or CanadaPost rate was over $1000.

Unless we are witnessing the Sarajevo of the 21st Century, I plan on being back in the TriCity area in October.

Just buy from Defender so you get exactly what you want. Is getting scammed worth the risk?

Re: Has anyone heard of Discount Marines in Poland?

It’s a scam
They ask to wire transfer funds, even issue tracking number to some fake shipping company “Sentral Express”
After receiving funds they stop answering e-mail and your order is never delivered
Wen site looks quite elaborate though

Stay away

When you bargain shop and cut out the middleman it's Caveat Emptor. Sometimes those middlemen are pretty sharp and know a thing or two.

Thank you all for your responses. I'm not sure why, but I didn't get notifications until today.
Scam confirmed which was our thoughts as well.
