help adding solent stay

hi,

I wonder if you can add a solent stay fitting to the top of the mast by yourself.

The solent stay fitting I have has 3 bolt holes on each side.

I would have preferred a fitting that allowed me to run a bolt through the mast.

This fitting requires me to eith srew or rivet each fitting hole to the mast.

MY CONCERN IS IF THIS WOULD BE STRONG ENOUGH.

Will the screws pull out ?

Is there a secret how you screw the fitting in or rivet it ?

Thanks

Re: help adding solent stay

I added one but I took the top cap off and used nuts on the inside. I always thought the Solent stay should be able to hold up the mast.

Best to use a gibb T fitting and plate.
