Help measuring a Spinnaker

Hiya, I know nothing about sailing but I was given a sail and I need to identify and measure it. It is made by Incidence and is a HUGE spinnaker in large dumpy storage bag. Before I take it out and try to measure it I was wondering which measurements and specs are relevant to the potential new owner, will the sail have identifying marks on it? I am told it has no damage but is there something I need to check for?

Thanks in advance

Re: Help measuring a Spinnaker

Welcome to the forum, Sailing Noob.

That's not much to go on, but in the general case:

You need a big indoor space, so you can spread it out without it (and you) flying away. Then stretch the three corners away from each other. There will be loose sail when you do that - it's not a flat piece of fabric. Measure the stretched distance between the three corners. Measure or calculate the distance from the peak to the middle of the lower side. That set of measurements will tell your potential buyer whether or not the sail will fit on his/her boat.
