help replacing chainplates

I am replacing the chain plates for my side stays.

I was thinking of doing the stays one at a time and using my main halyard as a support while I was working on a stay.

My problem is what to attach the halyard to ?

Thanks,

jim

Re: help replacing chainplates

What options do you have to attach your halyard to?

We’ve got substantial stanchion bases the will easily support the mast at the pier. You can also attach to one of the adjacent stay turnbuckles.

This is only to keep the mast planted while stationary.

Stanchion bases are fine if you can tie to them. If not, does the jib car run past the shrouds?
