Hi All.

I am looking to buy my first sailing... I saw a feeling 286, very well kept. My concern is its volvo 10hp engine, original from factory... I think that this engine is too small.. any suggestions?
Thanks.

Re: hi all.

Good looking boat. Welcome aboard Jezko. 10 horse is a little low. But you only need to come and go out of your marina. I would say to keep it while you own this boat and wait until your ready to upgrade to a bigger boat if you like sailing and get what you want from a owner that has already done it.

Re: Hi All.

'depends on where you are and what you are doing. Are you bucking big currents, inlets or distance? ....are you out from the slip to sailing in "flat" water?

Thanks for your replies. I am located in malta, europe. Main targets will be round the island, and comino in summer, however i would not like to exclude the possibility of offshore travelling. Previous owner said that the motor can do 4 knots on idle, and 6 full power. (definately not recommended). I like this kirie feeling, bcause its d only boat i saw of its size, with so spacious comfort. Very ideal in my case, with 3 kids... I wonder how kirie, released this model with just 10 h.p . All other feelings that i saw, all had the engine upgraded to a 20h.p.
