how to proceed with unused power survivor 35 manual watermaker

I have a never used PUR survivor 35 manual watermaker.

How should I proceed ?

Test it with a fresh water source ? Then I will need pickle it after testing.

Buy membrane on ebay or where ?

If you want to test it use sea water and test the product water with a tds meter. If all tests good re pickle it and be happy. I have two of them they are great little units . just remember it only does about a gallon and a half per hour of constant pumping. ( there is a thread on here about making it into a power survivor ) I will see if I can find it .
