Form drag.

F = ma same cross section but the acceleration of the water depends upon the displacing agents frontal form, section defines mass of water displaced entry bluntness or fineness defines the acceleration. Most efficient is where mass by acceleration and skin friction from longer fine bow cross at the defined SOG as it were.

Someone tried it on a 6 meter years ago, I understand it didn't work too well.
