hull thickness Bluewater Yachts

Anyone know anything about the hull thickness, layup and sea-ride-kindliness of an 1987 51ft Bluewater Yacht "Coastal Cruiser"?

pull the speed transducer & take a sliding caliper, that at least gives you the thickness.
layup: maybe lost in the mists of time...

thank you double u, that's an excellent idea for a method to check hull thickness and we wish we could do that...we must rely on internet, however, for we are isolated in the Bahamas at least until the new year. Wannacarricraft.

Re: hull thickness Bluewater Yachts

if the transducer is located in a reasonably flat spot on the hull (i.e. not on a "V") you can use a salad- or similar bowl with a flat rim, put a bead of sealant on the rim & position it (snorkeling) on the outside of the hull over the transducer, when somebody pulls the transducer the waterpressure will strongly press the bowl against the hull & no or very little water will enter. then you can measure thickness at leasure. (with such procedures we drilled a hole & mounted a transducer in our aluminium hull while at anchor)
