Hurricane season down island.

I am considering spending the summer of 2017 based in Grenada. My question is about hurricane plans for that area. I live in eastern NC so I know storms are not to be dealt with casually. Here, owners have a contract with local marinas to haul their vessel if a storm is heading in their direction. The marina will haul the vessel as long as the owners can get it to the marina 48 hours prior to high winds arriving. My question is, do the marinas down island do anything similar? Is there anything resembling a contract/service where we would pay for the option to be hauled but only use it if the weather dictates? We would like to spend the summer cruising Grenada and the Grenadines but need to have a solid plan in place in the event a storm heads in our direction.

Thanks

Re: Hurricane season down island.

There are 3 yards in Grenada, Spice Island, Grenada Marine and Clarkes Court Bay. They are all very busy during hurricane season and some have wait lists for short term haul outs. Not sure if they have any hurricane programs or contracts, I'd call if that's what you need. Most cruisers sit in the southern bays and run to Trini if it looks like Grenada will take a direct hit.

All haul out yards are full well before the season starts.

There's one enclosed bay on the south of Grenada that is a hurricane hole. Forgotten its name.
Pt Louis Marina in St Georges would be fine.

They "think" they would run to Trinidad. The reality is its very difficult to determine the path. Heading to sea in front of one is suicide.

I thought I would flee to Trinidad, but when I got there I changed my mind.

Port Egmont if i remember well, tricky entrance to found a hurricane hole with mangroves around and a bridge at the end corner of the harbour, Hurricane Ivan twist and shred this place pretty well, be there in a TS, not bad at all but better to pick a place well in advance...
