Breaking up a short passage in this season is inherently unsafe imho. Much better to get there on my route instead of deviating to some non essential island thats off the route. Thats why so many lose their boats on the Azores trip. They deviate north into a stormy band to "break up the passage".

But Bermuda is there as a contingency port. Nicely placed if I want it

If it's just for some cultural catching up:
why not take a flight and rent an appartment with airbnb
Unless you intend to cross to Europe later on of course.

Cheers,
V.

Better yet lets trade. You can have my house for a few months rent free and I'll vacation on your boat down south. Deal?

I make that about a 1500 mile trip which I suspect Sea Life is capable of making in 10 daze baring a patch of dead air northwest of Bermuda. Assuming you'll get some weather, I'm guessing 15 days, eh? I suspect the most dangerous part will be between Sandy Hook and the Hudson. Good Luck with that old son. Have fun.

Have a great trip Mark. It was a pleasure to have enjoyed your company many times in St. Maarten. Carla passes on her best as well.

I think a lot of people don't realize that Mark has the done trip before and he loved being in NYC to the point that he's bee-lining to go again.

Staying on one's boat on a mooring in NYC while visiting is is an incredible bargain (the whole point of traveling on a boat)!

Not sure if he's left yet, and I assume he's singlehanding but don't recall him mentioning. Either way, I hope he indulges us with some more video! It was fun seeing a taste of what that was like when he solo'd across the Atlantic.

Being from Massachusetts this statement is confusing and revolting to me. I think he should see a shrink

Definitely dont dispute that and definitely respect it.

I forget you're from a far off land and that you dont inherently know that Boston and New York have a bigger rivalry then the Irish and the Scottish. As much as I Love ny because they are apart of America I hate them because they house the Yankees. Go Red Sox!!!! And yankees s#$ k.

Happy sailing and keep us posted!

Leaving now. Had to wait a bit so that standing cold front will have disappeared in a few days.
