Contrary to commonly held myth, the thumbs up sign in Australia means "OK" or "All Right". However, it has a different meaning when the thumbs up is given an upward motion. Now it means something to do with insertions and the rear end of a person. Best to keep the elbow and/or the wrist completely immobilised when doing this Down Under. Having said that, it is a mostly disused sign in the cities of Australia but widely understood outside them.
