inverter suggestions?

Greetings...my wife and I are taking our first trip "beyond the harbor" here in Charleston, SC soon. Along the way, no doubt we'll need to charge the phone batteries. Any suggestions on a good inverter box or other method for charging? We will be well within tower range at all times.

There are a number of solar options for phone/mobile device/laptop charging out there that are worth looking into.

We have been using a Xantrex 1850 for running most tools, appliances, including the microwave, and charging batteries for quite some time.

Solar

Thanks for the idea on solar...do you have any brand names and I'll search them out. Appreciate it.

For the boat I just use a 12v car charger for my phones. Works great. Only problem is you have to buy a different one for every phone!

A phone battery charger is an EXTREMELY low-draw item. If that is ALL you want an inverter for one of the cheapest, littlest ones that you can find will work. If you ever think you'll want to use the inverter for other things, though, then you need to think about what things, what draw they will have, and so on.
