Has anybody done a bareboat charter with them and can provide feedback.

You can PM me if you desire.

Thank you,

Not in recent years but 10 or so years back, 4 times. Skip and Andrea run a pretty good operation. We just prefer the USVIs to the 'Run for the next mooring ball" BVI operation.

Re: Island Yacht Charters-USVI's

Going thru all that and not visiting some of the BVIs would be selling the trip short. Not sure about COVID times, but sail up to JVD, clear in, go to Foxy's, loop up around the north end of Tortola, visit the Baths maybe the Indians and then back to US (couple of BVI days). During Winter the northern swell/ trade winds can make for some rocking and rolling along the Northern SJ anchorages.

The BVIs are great but we made 8 Winter trips down there and after seeing all the sites we just found out hanging around SJ to be our preference, YMMV. There is an Island of the south side of ST (Christmas Cove ??) that is a good place to spend some time. We found the south coast of SJ kind of boring. Dingy into Cruz Bay for the day visit, a must.

There is just so many more charter operations in the BVIs that it is a rat race from mooring ball to mooring ball.

Lot to see and so little time. Plan but be flexible, them Christmas Winds can blow like He##.

Link to BVI government site with current COVID regulations:

Unless you are planning to spend a full week in the BVI, and are fully vaccinated, I really don't see it as being worthwhile to try to go there.
