King's Race - Thailand

Do you take part in the kings race and need a hand? I travel in Thailand until end of December. It would be an amazing opportunity to take part in the race. I am not an experienced but fully excited sailer as I just had some classes. So if you need to fill up your boat lets get in contact. Thank you a lot. Nadine

Re: kings race Thailand

Its the Kings Cup Regatta and it's all pretty serious.
2011 Phuket King's Cup Regatta

Good luck getting a spot, I daresay there will be plenty of experienced yachtsmen and women you will be up against.

Re: King's Race - Thailand

A friend of mine lived in Thailand for a few years and got to know the crown prince. They were sailing together in a regatta of some sort, in small boats. They were in the lead at the last mark, when the prince inexplicably capsized the boat. Sputtering, my friend asked him why he'd done that. "One does not beat the King", the prince replied.
