Re: Kite Surfing/Boarding - easy to do?

Yep after this thread renewed my interest it getting jerked around by a kite I'm going to go the Kitefoiling route, unless I find a good old Windrider Rave.

Hey Franziska, you are not too old. Check the photos on our web page, we are closer to 60 than 50 and every day we learn new tricks, even today!

Go for it, and get in touch for help of information.

Foiling is not that new but it is expensive and you should learn with a normal kite and a twintip board before going for a foil kite and foil board.

Re: Kite Surfing/Boarding - easy to do?

Late to this thread but perhaps my $.02 will help.

I have been kiting over 10 years, and all over the world. Please don't learn on your own. This is considered an extreme sport for a reason. It is very dangerous, even sometimes for experienced kiters. 3 days of 2 hour lessons is the best place to start. Aside from the much better learning curve and the much better safety factor, the other plus is your instructor will help you figure out what equipment to get.

It is addictive.

I have traveled around the world twice primarily for kiting. In the short term, I am still looking at visiting different locations for kiting.

Anyone want to learn? If you will provide me with a bunk, I'll come teach you.
