LBI Anchorage

Hey everyone,
From Toms River, NJ and just traded my 17 whaler for a 28 oday sailboat. I want to take a few trips to lbi this summer and am unfamiliar with the anchorages down there. I’ve got a draft of 4.5 feet anyone know an anchorage that can accommodate that?

There are almost none. Barnegat Bay has an average depth of about 3’ outside the channels. There are a few coves with enough water but I would not call them “anchorages” per se. Going and looking at charts of the area (NOAA online) will give you some sense of the coastline which is not hospitable to deeper draft boats.

Not aware of any good ones on LBI proper, but Tices Shoal is a very popular anchorage, and near the Barnegat Bay inlet.
