Look at the Deltaville Marina on Jackson Creek in Deltaville, Va. or if you are farther north maybe try Worton Creek Marina near Chestertown, Md.

Re: Looking for a Marina

Might need a little more info:

- what part of the Bay?
- living aboard in the slip or hauling out to do the work?
- size boat?
- doing the work yourself or having it done by the yard?

Everyone has their favorites on the Bay. Choices could be based on cost, weekend sailing options, access to transportation, access to marine services, etc.

In the mid-Bay area, there are lots of great yards that do fantastic work or that allow DIY work.

Casa Rio Marina in Mayo Maryland located on Caddle Creek off the West River has a large DIY boatyard. They hauled our 37' Tayana and our 48' trawler.

Herrington Harbour is mid Bay and I can't think of anything you can't get done there. Nice DIY yard and almost a dozen contractors on site. Cheers!

Re: Looking for a Marina

Bay Cruiser,

We're also at Herrington (new there this winter but staying for the season). We're very much looking forward to getting to know folks there. We'll be on C dock. And are there most weekends now rehabbing the boat. Would love to connect!

So far, we've been very pleased with the yard, the staff and the services. And having a West Marine on site has been way too convenient!

Yacht Maintence in Cambridge MD, on the Choptank. They have a RR or travel lift. Can work on boat youself. Have always had good work and they stand by their work. Although boat yards are like anchors everyone has an opinion.
