Looking for interesting Panama destination spot

Hola,
I need good ideas for a family who's boat will be in the Panama Canal region for the Holidays. Either side recommendations for marinas or island ideas. Boat is transiting Pacific to Caribbean. I know of Shelter Bay. Looking for ideas of 1 day travel time. Gracias!

Isla Taboga, a few hours from Balboa. Good retraraunts, decent snorkeling, lots of Panamains go over on the ferry.
