Looking for routing advice from Malaysia to Japan

I am considering purchasing a sailboat in Phuket. Looking for resources on which route and time of year is best to sail it from Malaysia to Japan.

Malacca Strait, north coast of Borneo, Palawan, Luzon, Japan.

You would want to complete the first part to Borneo by October to take advantage of SW winds, but not to arrive in the Philippines before December due to typhoon season. Then up to Japan to arrive by May.
