Quite the story. The trimaran sounds like it really took a beating.

pirate Re: Loss In The Med

We were approached 4 times in all along the foot of Italy on the 25th/26th Oct by Italian patrol boats.. twice in the early hours when a searchlight would suddenly blast the cockpit.. were never told the reason for the search so assumed it was a theft of a boat similar to the Lagoon 380 I was delivering.. there was also a lot of VHF traffic mentioning Paula Tigra by name (that's how I heard the name)..
So sorry to hear the real story and my sincere condolences to the Family and friends of both men..

Wow.."Both outer hulls had been ripped off, the wheel and mast were gone, puncture holes dotted the central hull and the rope was wrapped around the propeller."

So sad to hear, I hope their families find peace. Makes you wonder bad storm with catastrophic failures, or run over by a cargo vessel? Thoughts?

Re: Loss In The Med

Terrible news, and who is to say the damage didn't occur after he was already off the boat.

It could of drifted in and out of shallows, etc...
