Makrolon VR vs. the others (for dodger windows)

I am in the process of replacing a dodger and am considering Makrolon for the windows.

Does anyone with knowledge have an opinion on using Makrolon instead of Strataglass, Regalite, etc. I have read a few things that indicate it is much better but haven't found any real testing or professional based opinions. The cost is very comparable or cheaper than some of the other leaders.

Thanks

Foster

Re: Makrolon VR vs. the others (for dodger windows)

I’m in year 2 with Makrolon clears. They are far better than Strataglass IMO. Optically clear but they are polycarbonate (lexan) so they will scratch. Mine are yellowing some but I have not messed with polishing them, so I can’t speak to revival

Re: Makrolon VR vs. the others (for dodger windows)

My boat has Makrolon AR2 for all clear parts of the dodger and bimini. After three years looks fine. The "AR2" part indicates the UV and scratch resistant coating is on both sides. I'm pleased.
