A lot of boats, apparently his too, will float for that long, but personally I prefer to have some form of propulsion and get places, preferably of my own choice.
Yes it was a joke regarding how heated people get arguing what constitutes a blue water cruiser. Maybe I told it wrong.

Ah, okay, then, it's just that others took it the way I thought they took it. Or I don't have a sense of humour, lol.

You had better get a good sense of humor to be in a thread like this.

Sit back and pour yourself a tall one, as the sheet is going to get really really deep as we count off the pages.

You just will not be able to get better entertainment anywhere else on the planet like you will get here.

Where else will you see turtle blood drinking, fish catching with you bare hands and eating your best friend bubba to stay alive.

Sit back and watch it all happen right in front of you.

Ya know I had a really bad day here and a little slow on the uptake sometimes but when I finally got this I laughed my ass off! Thank you.

The current record holders (Mexican fishermen) kept a tally of the number of turtles they hand caught to survive. By the time they had drifted from Mexico to Australia, they had caught and eaten 103 turtles!

Too many unknowns at this point to speculate but story is plausible and those waters are still relatively rich in Sea life.
Also a drifting boat accumulating weed becomes a fish aggregate

The picture in the article is Tom hank. If the story is true, there is no reason to use picture from an old movie. This is a sick joke.

Raw turtle, sun dried turtle, salted turtle, slightly old and smelly turtle. Spindly raw bird.

Ok, that's it, I'm out of recipes.

16 months !!!

Wow, you'd be dreaming of camembert and bacon and standing headroom.

If that's really Tom Hanks, I have only this comment: he sure doesn't look Mexican!

I'm for ever impressed in this religious world that a story like this can raise so much skepticism by those same people that believe that some one parted the Red Sea.
As a born skeptic I'll wait for the evidence to be verified and if its true it certainly points to mans ability to survive in the worst conditions imaginable.

Re: Man Washes up in Marshall Islands 'After 16 Months Adrift'

Appears anything is possible , "la Balsa" raft sailed/drifted from Equador to Mooloolaba,Australia. from memory this took 5 months. i have seen the raft i,think in a museum at Ballina ,NSW Australia and it is only a raft made of balsa logs and a sheet as a sail, i can't remember the exact details but 3-4 people on board and only 5 months, also recall the Kon Tiki expedition also amazing

so he may well have been caught in a few large swirls and taken this amount of time, Time will tell,it always does???
