Marina suggestion in Lisbon Portugal

I'm not sure where to post this question, but this seems the more likely area.

I'll be sailing into Lisbon, arriving Monday most likely. I wondering if anyone has a suggestion for a good marina to dock at. I prefer not expensive.

Any suggestions are most welcome.

There's really only two choices, Cacais in the bay to the N of the river entrance or Alcantra Docks up the river just past the bridge on the N bank.
There are others however they are usually full with local boats on long term berths.

If you go upriver time it for the flood as you'll not make it on the ebb.

Second boaties recommendations.

If those are not in your budget there are also mooring balls at Seixel on the south side of the river, the association that runs them also provides a water taxi, showers etc.

Otherwise further south there is a Marina at Sesimbra (beautiful town, but I don't know what the Marina prices are like) and Sines (industrial town and a fair distance from Lisbon, but amongst the cheapest marinas in Portugal)

Very interested in Seixel. Do you have their contact information?

Should be a phone number on the PDF

Otherwise just turn up, there is a doc that you can go alongside temporarily if there is space otherwise you could take a free ball or anchor when you come in. If there is no one at the dock try the tourist office

Re: Marina suggestion in Lisbon Portugal

We stayed in Oeiras marina in 2015 for a few weeks and liked it. Being Portuguese, it was pronounced Oh eye rish. When we checked in, they asked how many people were aboard. I thought this was to allow them to charge us for each person, but it was so they knew how many pieces of fresh bread to deliver in the morning. Every morning we were there they delivered fresh bread to us.

It was really a nice place to stay. It was about a mile to the train station to get a ride into Lisbon (or Caiscais, for that matter).

Best of luck.

Re: Marina suggestion in Lisbon Portugal

Just a bit of an update on this, albeit late.

I did sail into Seixal. I anchored out, all the morning balls were taken. I found it to be a superb place to be/visit/hang out. The holding is a bit dicey, but you just have to make sure you know the tides, especially when the spring tides are coming. The folks running the docks and mooring balls are really helpful, just wonderful folk!

There is a lot of bottom growth, it is an estuary with a river feeding it and can have quite high currents. Not a lot of space to anchor or mooring balls available but it worked really well for me.

I spent quite a bit of time there. I would go back in a heartbeat if I ever find myself in that region again. Easy access to Lisbon if you want.

Thanks for the suggestion!
