Miami Boat Show 2/16-20/2012 (Florida)

Hi, we are going to the boat show">Miami Boat Show next week in Miami, Florida. I love the Annapolis (US Boat) Sail Show, but I've never been to this show in Miami.

We are interested in the Sail Show (Miamarina). Does anyone have any advice or suggestions based on their experience with this show? How to make the best of it?

Maybe wear a drool bib when I see the new CATS?!

Thanks,
Darby

It's a good time! It's worth hitting the convention center also, lots of stuff there. Beware, the bus ride between the sailboats and convention center can take 30-45 minutes depending on traffic.

Forget Bob, he doesn't post here. So stop by and say "Hi" to me. I promise not to twist your arm and make you buy a watermaker.
Actually some of the seminars are very interesting. If Pam Wall is giving a seminar on anything it's not to be missed.

I'll be there as well.

There is a water shuttle service set up to run between the marina and the convention center. It is free for boat show attendees. It takes out from the lower level of the mall on the south side.

Cheers,
Mike

Are you sure? I think you are referring to the water shuttle between the in-water power boats at Sea Isle Marina and the in-water sailboats at Miamarina at Bayside. It doesn't go the convention center, for that you have to take a (free) bus.

Check out my Taswell 58AS at the show. Properly priced, world saling capable, fast, and comfortable boat at 1/2 its original price. Offered by David Walters. Over 30k of improvements in last year. Winner overal in both the Carib1500 and Atlantc Cup.

Curious question.... It looks like I am about to be the proud owner of a Sabre 34 MK I. I will need PFDs with harnesses, jacklines and three clip tethers. Although I will have the prices with me for reference...... do boat shows really have good deals? Or is it just a case of being able to see the equipment and speak to skilled reps?

Any insight will be appreciated.

Bill

Which booth are you at Tellie? Pam is giving a seminar, and I agree that like always it will be awesome. I'll be in the water in Slip 12B at Bayside and promise not to super sell anyone either. Be fun to meet any fellow CF members.

Hi Richard, I'll be at the Spectra Watermaker booth near the entrance in the second row. Stop by and say Hi if you get a chance or I'll stop over at 12B. Pam Wall is a treat. That little gal has more energy than any three men. Guys, if you have a reluctant wife bring her to meet Pam.
