Mildew on sail

Looking for best cleaner to remove ugly mildew stains on my sail. Currently have Spray Nine and Starbrite. Afraid to use a chlorine bleach product.

Re: Mildew on sail

I don't know about the products GordMay sourced for you there, but in all my many (advanced) years of trying to remove mildew from fabrics, I have never been successful. Even straight bleach doesn't seem to daunt it much. The big deal used to be washing the salt from them and letting them dry prior to storage. Fat lot of good that does you if you already have the mildew, but might help for the future, maybe?

Good luck, and I hope you get your sails looking pristine.

Ann

Only thing I've ever seen that seems to really work was the Vacu-Wash process: http://www.sailmagazine.com/mildew-removal-made-easy
