I am looking for a copy of that globe, but still haven't found it.

All the google searches I have done on ocean flows bring up links to global warming sites.

Sometimes, if possible, I play guitar when sailing. Wheter some nice songs or some classical works, it's really relaxing and peaceful.

Re: Music to Sail by . . .

I've done a number of deliveries with a skipper who refuses to listen to music which has lyrics in English, his only language. He claims listening to the lyrics distracts him from the helm. So as a result, lots of cool tunes in French, African, Spanish, etc.

Me dos centavos...

Well I can understand that. I use to play much more music especially when motoring with the old diesel. Anything to distract from the noise and vibration of a long motor sail. Though now with electric I tend not to play music underway at all. I like to listen to the waves and the sounds of the boat. Though I do have a nice selections of songs I like to listen to in the evening while at anchor. Like the Stan Getz/Gilaberto rendition of:
Corcovado (Quiet Nights Of Quiet Stars)

Really glad you mentioned this song. One of my old favorites but haven't thought about it for a while. To show my age, I still have the original LP and a turntable to play it on. Still working on how to get the turntable to play on the boat.

Re: Music to Sail by . . .

There's music I like when I'm sailing and then there's music for when I'm ashore and I wish I was sailing. Here's two for the latter:

Kate Rusby - The Sleepless Sailor

Here it is in a video that has nothing to do with sailing but sure reminds me of growing up around boats. I had an outboard and dinghy just like the one at 0:40

And Pirates of the Carribean - Curse of the Black Pearl. Especially as a background in this video. Be sure to blow it up big. Wait until 0:30

My favorite song is "Boats" by Kenny Chesney, says it all...'vessel of freedom, harbor of healing'. Gotta love it!
