If you have an empty drawer or locker, your boat's too big.
If you cant get all the necessary equipment stowed properly, your boat's too small.

If you are not disabled, and you normally use electric winches to trim or furl your sails, your boat is probably too big and you are losing one of the great physical benefits of the sailing life.

NevisDog, in some ways, asking questions here is like seeking a mentor who is not there where you are.

Nope, done it manually, I now like the button option, whether it be sails or windlass.

Well I'm retired now, so practically disabled , and I still haul anchor manually, just to be sure I still can. I love being able to ignore that electronic gadget. It's great we are all so different - 'vive la differance'.

It's better than that! My old mentors are all hands-on people - they would be most frustrated me asking questions at a distance, when they can't jump in their cars and pop round and solve the problem for me, so I don't ask them now - I ask all my stupid questions here instead.
