No, it surely dried up! There were probably 20 Hobie fleets in Florida alone. Weekend regattas on lakes and bays...race Saturday...party your ass off Saturday night...race on Sunday...then drag your hungover, wrung out, dead tired, young ass home. "Gonna be a looooooong Monday...."

I also understand the comment on seamanship, luckily I grew up in FL. I have a lot of boating, diving, fishing experience so maybe it won't be a steep learning curve. Also, luckily my family loves it almost as much as I do!

I wish we still had as many Beach Cat Clubs as before. A few of my friends that have seen my cat are currently looking to get one. 3or 4 have told me "you got a Hobie Cat? I use to..."
