Need haulout by Palau

Hello all, I finally got to see my new to me Morgan OI37. Not in bad shape but needs work. There is really no place in Palau to haul out. I would like a place that has a travel lift that is a user friendly marina. I have a hard time nailing down anyone from The Philippines. Guam did not have much while I was there. I think I am heading towards Indonesia and around Africa. Are there any good places in that direction?

Thanks for any help, Stuck in Palau.

Can’t you haul with a crane?

There’s Guam, if you can get that far.

I can do that in Palau. But they want $1,300 out and $1,300 back in. I think that is a little high. Plus $300 per month and I have to find my own cradle. Guam has no Marine stores. I was just there for three days.

Beware of the Phillipines, I had a very expensive horribly bad paint job done at Zekea. He apparently has some connections to the loacl mafia so that even though I had a local magistrate on my side I never got redress. There is not reallt a haulout anyway a sort of jury rig railway. First place I got a haulout after leaving Palau was Borneo. Kudat has a good boatyard, the subcontractor , Tommy, was very concientious about his work. We know of another classic yacht that sailed from Palau to Kudat for work so they do have a good rep.

Yes I have not heard good things about it. I also want to do the work myself. I will look into the other one you mentioned. If you were in Palau were you by chance at Sam's Tours on Malakal

Kudat is reachable I think. Thanks. Hopefully they have a travel lift.

Sam is tops for tours. He would host the cruisers dive trips at cost. Made for economical diving. Still salivating over his tuna and his burgers
