I don"t know what to think! Other videos I have posted have much criticism, some good, mostly bad, and some ridiculous! This has almost 200 views and not a word. HMMMM... somebody say something...even bad!

I like the way you hold your video camera. What camera are you using ... what lense ... how long is the pole ... how do you hold it so still?
Ok ... something crappy ... Hmmmm ... Hmmm ... can't think of something crappy :-)

The pole is a twist lock aluminum thingy that came with the boat, I use it to sound from the dingy, its about 12'. camera is your standard GoPro taped to it. I just whipped it up while cruising to share the day. Never tried it before. I will try a kite next for giggles!

Mycroft, interesting observation about following into the cockpit. A friend of mine saw it and said "way too much pirate butt", and I thought I had a nice butt...guess not! I will keep that in mind next try. This was a spur of the moment thing. Give your GoPro a try and post it too.

I know what you mean about negative comments. I am new to the passion of sailing and am just amazed how negative so many people are with their comments on YouTube. Telling people the wind is not what they say, the seas are much smaller than they say, the sails are trimmed all wrong, and on and on and on. It has been my biggest surprise so far.

Mycroft, Funny you show that video from Bella Luna, That too gave me the bug for the pole cam. There is a kite shop just a couple hundred feet from my anchor so I showed him that vid. He has me set up a bit better I think to get a steadier video. The high winds should lay down a bit by Tuesday and we will sail the boat a bit further north so maybe I can pull off a kite vid...fun stuff!

Gasspass3, All in all it is like any forum, lots of good stuff lots of bad stuff, but I have both learned a lot and passed some good info on as well. You just have to weed it out and don't let the bad guys ruin it. This little thread has been all good so far and BTW thanks for watching my goofy vid!
