Wonder if all the people he messed with so badly will get together an have a class action suit against him? or to get a police investigation, perhaps for fraud?

Ann

One of the people he defamed on SA (serah) said she is just wanting people to know what type of person he is.. He also sent a private email to her, that was harassing, as he knew her from a delivery incident she recounted.

And the cost of suing him.. just to try to collect from.. an empty shell.

The more people post and the more one sees Ray (aka mackconsult on the other forum) post in his 'defence' the more obvious it is that Mr. Ray McCormack has some serious psychopathic issues. The bullying, the felony theft conviction, the turning a blind eye to a sexual assault on a crew member by another crew that also had a felony conviction.. the delight in talking about letting birds die on a line if they go after a lure whilst fishing... the alternate reality he exists in.

The collective feeling appears to be to warn others of the multiple disasters that have befallen him, and his egregious behaviour in an attempt to save others..

as well as to steer clear of him on land and on the water..

Lat 38 has more discussion in "Letters" and looks like it included comments from CF there too. (?) It starts on page 32

Crash McCormack also posted his sailing/delivery experience log on Sailing Anarchy.

If you scroll down to 10/30/2023, he actually lists his 5 day "Delivery" of Nichols38 (Bumboatgal) from San Diego to Turtle Bay, MX, on his resume! and under "Role" he states that he was "Captain"!
No mention was made of the fact that the delivery ended up the boat under his command resting on the bottom and 99% underwater . . . .

Re: Nicholson 38 sunk on Baja Ha-Ha

In this saga more unbelievable things are happening...

Ray has a video interview where the interviewer just lets Ray ramble...

Stunning to watch... Look at the smirk and body language on Ray...

I have a transcript (poor as it is) for those that can't stomach listening to Ray. Unfortunately just saw I am limited to 1K text uploads.. so... including a link (after video) to sailing anarchy where I posted the full transcript that you can download:

"skip" is more of an HF thing... at marine vhf freqs, ionospheric ducting would be possible and the distances can be thousands of nm with ducting. Collins Radio's FREEDOM RADIO established Cedar Rapids, IA to Saigon links on a regular basis using ducting.

^^ Just read a bit of that transcript. All I can say is, anyone arrogant or ignorant enough to step on a boat and say "I have a captain's ticket so I'm gonna take over whenever I want" has not only delusions of grandeur, but is woefully ignorant of what a captain's license means.

Hard to believe there haven't been repercussions from the USCG regarding his purported licenses. Anyone know if they've been alerted via a formal complaint or otherwise?

Ray must have been using the HAL 9000 Autopilot.

The received wisdom is that it is outside their jurisdiction. It is far from clear that Mr. McCormack was carrying passengers for hire. Apparently the USCG can only suspend or revoke a license for actions taken under the scope of that license.

Yep, we saw the top of her mast sticking out of the water when we departed Turtle Bay two days later. She was CLOSE to the shore!!!

After making it to shore, wreck 'em ray had the temerity to ask around and see if he could hire on for the trip to Cabo San Lucas, as he had a flight back home to catch, and didn't want the inconvenience of trying to figure out how to get to the airport by land . . . .
Folks, you just can't make this stuff up!

Re: Nicholson 38 sunk on Baja Ha-Ha

a captain's license "means" nothing beyond that which is captured in the CFR's, nothing save the legal interpretations of the passages therein...

Re: Nicholson 38 sunk on Baja Ha-Ha

People get away with things they shouldn’t when there are no dire consequences to their actions.

He continues to get work because the USCG certificate program is broken.

You can lie about sea time, crash boats, destroy people’s property, but if you have passed the USCG’s written exam you are “qualified”.

If he were an airplane pilot, the FAA would have pulled his license, and he would now be greeting people at Walmart.

USCG .....nada. Crickets. The lights are on, but nobody is home..

My two cents...

Cheers

This makes everyone who has USCG certs look bad.

Re: Nicholson 38 sunk on Baja Ha-Ha

The program may be busted.

But to me, the lesson here is the ancient caveat emptor. We need to be aware there are camouflaged bad people out there who will cheat us just for the fun of it, people to whom our worth is less than nothing, but for our money or life they can take.
