Normal cruiser? dont know
its on the water, its luxury, I get to change scenery.

I recently looked hard at buying a 65 foot power CAT with a large deck for conferences and meetings because I would rather be on the water.....
Insurance killed it.

A boat cruise as opposed to cruising is like a hotel on water.. its a change

I am the most anti social person I know... I dont really talk to anyone except the barman.....

I have this fantasy of being able to find secluded anchorages in paradise, especially in the Pacific, is it not so? Yes I know it will be work, lots of sweat and a little terror every now and again, and boredom, hours and hours of boredom, but these places do exist still don't they?

I can't say I " like " cruises I've only been on one. Like the many " unwashed" here I had all the skeptical viewpoints. I was impressed by the vessel, the food, the luxury, the quiet , the library , the 14 bars , the interesting lectures etc.

The luxury in the end wasn't my cup of tea , but I can see what attracts people

Remember the old days when we had shuttle boats?

Sadly we could.
Only I need to look at trimarans...... is there such as thing as a fold in hull and good cabin space that is a Dry ride?
I like this but wet as heck.

If you squint those could be waves off to starboard. And nobody got sick.

Having done a few pond crossings by small boat. It was a very gracious way to travel instead. Almost like id imagine a private superyacht would be.

Yet there was 3000 passengers and nearly 2500 crew most of the time you could still find yourself in a bar with only a couple of other people. Thee was never a sense of a crowd

Dave

We took the QM2 from Stavanger to New York via Southampton when moving to the US. I'd agree, it was a splendid way to travel, at the end of the first week we discovered the forward section of the ship with libraries and all. I found a tome-like oversized print version of "HMS Surprise" and lost a day settled into a window seat.

Kudos to you sir, I really didn't expect things to pan out this way. Hope you live close or you may have called me out on the carrot promise.
I knew weavis was a doctor.

I could have said something, but I wanted to see a pic of you delivering that carrot.

I feel pretty silly now, but at the same time I know I was damn unlucky, there were some big odds against getting my bluff called there.
