Panama Shipyard for Haul out and service

I have a 36' Beneteau First 36.7, currently moored at Boca Chica in Chiriqui province on the Pacific coast of Panama. I am looking for a marina / shipyard that will haul her out and refinish the bottom and do general servicing of the engine etc. Any recommendations?

Thanks kindly.

John

The Balboa Yacht club has a railway. They do bottoms fast. The fancy marina at the end of the causeway has a travel lift but they do look expensive. Engine service can be done anywhere.

Flamenco Marina at the end of the causeway has a travel lift and a working yard. Expensive.

Balboa YC has two railways. Cheaper. Find your own workers.

A couple of other choices, but I've no experience with them.

Re: Panama Shipyard for Haul out and service

A number of buddy boats did their bottoms at Balboa YC. I stayed on a mooring there for 4 months and got to know the yard guys... They were very good when we left in Nov 2012.

Flamingo Marina has a haul out and small yard, but is very expensive.

If you are crossing the canal, another option would be wait till you get to Colon. Shelter Bay Marina has a large haul out facility. It is under new management and I can't comment on the quality.

Best bet is the Cruisers Net once you get into Panama City.

Looks like there are just the 2 places for a haul out. The commercial fishing boat yard looks like trouble.
