Proportionate boat name decal height

Hello everyone,

I have a Catalina 270. We have finally decided on a name for the boat.

What is a good letter height that is both legible from a fair distance and proportionate to the size of the 27' hull? Assuming I use a font that is easily read at a distance.

Regards,
Brent

Re: Proportionate boat name decal height

That's really a function of personal taste and the length of the name. Some like bigger and bolder, some like more understated. The longer the name, the smaller the letter height you're going to want so that it does dominate the side of the boat. I'd suggest you google Catalina 270 and look at images. I'm sure you'll find examples of what others have done.
