I have now a SS hose clamp secured on the shaft a 1/4'' behind the SS color. iI can see if the fitting has moved. Nearly sunk my boat when the fitting shifted 6 years ago.

Eight years. Zero leakage, slippage, or movement. Bellows still feels supple.
