Raymarine ST-70 Autopilot control head issues

I have a Raymarine autopilot that consists of a ST-70 control head, X-30 Smart Pilot and Type 2 Rotary Drive. Recently it started to act up and would shut down on its own. And now the screen of the ST-70 does not power up at all. There is an ST-60 wind unit below this that is functioning fine and is connected by Seatalk to the ST-70.

I would like to begin trouble shooting before I go out and replace components so checking if someone can offer some guidance on where best to begin? Is there a simple way to confirm the issue is with the control head and not the X-30. I have checked and 12 volts are getting to the control head.

Also can the ST-70 be replaced by any of the Raymarine autopilot control heads or does it have to be an original ST-70? Assuming the issue is not with the Smart Pilot X-30 can I replace the control head with any of the older or newer Raymarine ones?

I have tried to register on the Raymarine website but cannot (says the page is not working now) so cannot ask on one of their forums.

call Raymarine. The old forum is read only. Have you tried to verify signal output from the X-30?

If you do Google search on “Raymarine x-30 troubleshooting” you will get links that you can click into. No need to register on the forum.
